The Reykjavik Fibre Network team has been nominated for an award at the Carriers World 2018 conference! The award is for most innovative wholesaler and will be awarded (if you vote for us) on this coming September 11th. Our competitors are Tata Communications, HGC Global Communications Limited, Deutsche Telekom International Wholesale Business Unit (IBU) and BridgeVoice. RFN is honoured to be among such accomplished nominees and I urge you to cast your vote.
Reykjavik Fibre Network has been working hard on delivering gigabit speeds to every home in Iceland and we have over 98% of homes connected to our network on gigabit! That means 1.000 megabit/s down and another 1.000 megabit/s up available to almost every customer. We’ve done this by delivering only gigabit-enabled equipment to every home for over 4 years. We also had some help with some new tools: Single Setup and Order Delivery Watch.
In 2016 we designed a new customer facing process for service providers to take care of the in-home installation in a single setup instead of two. The goals of a single setup was to cut down product lead time for customers, increase customer satisfaction and cut costs of installations. Here’s a short introduction of the single setup. To support our installation agents, we made a setup app called Visit (heimsókn). The app has a guided step-by-step installation and can enable access and activate services (Internet, IPTV and Voice) with the press of a button.
We also made the Order Delivery Watch for customers to see the status of their order and installation (like Domino’s Pizza Watch). Customers see a countdown to delivery and when their single setup is booked. The day before they’ll receive a reminder. This helps in customer satisfaction as they need to verify whether they are happy with the installation before our technician can leave their home.
